Lots of players have traditionally expressed a fascination with rares. So this holiday season, Jagex has served up 1 + 3 additional rares. Anyone interested in more rares? How many more rares do you think the market can take before player interest dies? How many more rares until rares lose their meaning entirely? Is an item a rare if every player has one? Leave your comments below. If you are willing to chuck your most precious possessions like phats because someone said words like crashing/dying/quitting and then find yourself unable to rebuy for what you sold for, then you don't deserve to own a phat.

I think it is one of their best decisions. OG rares will probably be worth nothing eventually. There is no more prestige in wearing a rare anymore. I think they should add multiple new colors or variations of rares every year. Light and dark versions of rares would be a good idea too. A light blue partyhat would be a great addition.

But what if someone worked hard to make some money and buy an OG rare as an achievement? What about the people who are working hard to earn one?

Runescape is a game designed for players earn progress and achievements after starting with very little. Would you support a game where you can obtain all of the key achievements like 99 skills and end-game items like OG rares without much work? Would you play a game if everyone was able to get everything they wanted on Day One? The ability to buy exp and lamps with Treasure Hunter/Squeal of Fortune/Oddments already caused a major part of the player base to quit RS3. If you are willing to chuck your most precious possessions like phats because someone said words like crashing/dying/quitting and then find yourself unable to rebuy for what you sold for, then you don't deserve to own a phat.

Only gold phat is confirmed discontinued so far gsh is a maybe frosted wreath/wrap scythe a maybe. The prestiege is for that specific rare you own its basically different levels of prestiege. I need my blue charms back.

Jmod confirmed that the Green Santa won't be a discontinued item - They plan to release it in the future

I don't think the Scythe / Wreath replicas will be discontinued either

I wouldn't mind these being discontinued, kinda sad that they won't, but oh well

Leave your comments below. 1 is discontinued. 1 is not. The other 2, I dunno.

But a non-discontinued rare is just like a token that can't be used. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(
