Good point hard to argue with that. The only reason you would is to lower the value of the item while its out .
I would love to see that comment from Mod Krista. Not denying it, I just haven't seen it.

You're implying that the price of an item is determined by which threads it belongs to on a forums that's read by such a minimal amount of people. In that case you're wrong and welcome to Runescape.

Again what you're implying is not true. This was posted on Reddit by a J-mod (Jagex moderator, employee at Jagex) that Green Santa is not a discontinued item.

Technically its isn't discontinued because its available to get in game right now. They said they are open to the idea of it coming back like they are to any of those items coming back . Means nothing

Also does that employee make those decisions if a rare comes back . Nope
