the first thread was interesting and i think had alot of interesting thoughts behind this subject

so seeing a op decided to shut down his thread i thought we should continue the discussion

i would like to know how you all feel about the following

1) old rares being re-released
2) new rares being released but with the understanding they will get released many times
3)re- releasing old rares but as cosmetic only

edited to add

4) rares with slight changes to it ( example would be christmas scythe and the new wraped christmas scythe or the wreath and the frosted wreath which to me looks better then the old one)

all opinions are welcome and i will not ask to lock this thread just because i disagree with your opinion

IMO the new items will become more vauable then the originals

seeing one doesnt use them for combat and only for trading purposes and to run around with , i would rather have the nicer looking items then the older ones,
i see the price of the older ones dropping over time way below thier current value and the new ones taken thier place at the top the the catorogry

Jagex should (and probably will) release new rare (and rerelease old ones) as they see the benefit of doing so. Last year financial statement reveals not only how much RS3 has grown in revenue in comparison to OSRS, but how much of it comes through MTX. Furthermore, Green Santa Hat release showcase how irrelevant is to majority of players if the item is discontinued or not. I am looking forward to seeing the financial statement from 2021 to further prove my point.

And no... Rs3 won't die because of rereleasing pixels. So go cry somewhere else lol. New players won't quit because they don't rerelease. But apparently all players will quit becasue they do? Don't think so.

What does this "financial statement" have to do with jagex rereleasing old rares?

Last i checked, old untradeable rares havent been rereleased since the snow globe so...

The thing is 80% of the game is dead content and with little to no new players joining ppl need an endgame goal to play for. Mxt drives you to get into endgame content which new players struggle getting into because price of weapons/gear are in the billions. Cosmetics won't help new players get into endgame bossing. And once someone gets all the endgame pvm gear what is next if no rare items exist? The game becomes boring. Besides that its confirmed 99% of cosmetic items are accessible to everyone if you wanted accessible cosmetics you have yak track/sgs/tokens and a bunch more if you wanted. Rs3 does not lack accessible cosmetics.

1) This question needs to be polled this year. Jagex needs to see what the community thinks of rereleasing old rares in an in game poll. Jagex should consider all feedback regarding this massive economy issue.

2) This I'll always support. Fake rares should be made uncommon, not common but uncommon enough to be affordable. Green santa rereleased a 2nd time would be nice.

3) I wouldn't like it if a keepsaked old rare gets devalued by cosmetic versions not even if there was a distinct difference in its examine and appearance.

4) These are good, preferably weapons so other players can see ur equipped new skin item. Head slots are hard to see like how frosted wreath you have to zoom in to see other ppl's wreaths so the more weapons like a valentine's day scythe or a clover scythe the better.

Personally I don't think that rares should be rereleased, instead they should all be tradeable to keep their status as a rare intact- or they can very well become inflated and be eventually quite common.

For example, I would love to get rid of my rares who are collecting dust in my bank to players who would appreciate them more and actually use them. An example is my 2008 Santa outfit and Candy Cane who would today be extremely sought-after due to how many new Christmas rares there have been created lately, and that it pairs well with the original red Santa hat.

I disagree.

Untradeables should never become tradeable as just because you were active during a certain time doesnt mean you should get to make loads of money.

Plus how are things becoming inflated a good thing?

To feel triggered like that means that you most likely don't have any rares, and must spread your toxicity so that others can't get what you don't have.

Some rares are tradeable and most are discontinued. In my opinion there should not be any restrictions if a rare is tradeable or not, when people can trade Partyhats, Santa hats, Halloween masks etc. If they can be traded, why shouldn't every other rare be tradeable as well?

I am totally against rereleasing the original discontinued items. The only people that want this are the unmotivated/lazy people. Some of these people are either salty they cannot obtain one or just lazy. We have to have end game items and goals that take years to complete. These expensive rares are just that. When I was a noob, I always wanted a partyhat. I worked hard for years and years to finally get my first one. We have to have mega expensive items to keep people playing because it is not that hard to buy max combat gear. If rares did not exist or were cheap from a rerelease, then everyone's money goal would be to buy max gear.

I am against rereleasing any discontinued items. I do support new discontinued items but it is important for Jagex to only do this occasionally and not pump them into the game regularly. I am against making "look a like" new rares like the wreath and scythe. I am against making an item being super rare but not discontinued (Green Santa).
