Forgive me for I have not played Runescape for many many years, but I do own a red santa hat. Because I haven't played in so many years, I do not know what spirit shards are and how they are used for trading for discontinued items.

After some light research, the GE price for spirit shards are currently 22gp each,
114m spirit shards x 22gp each = 2,508,000,000 NOT 2850m as his reported price was.

Even if spirit shards were 24gp each at the time of transaction, it still falls short at 24gp each x 114m spirit shards = 2,736,000,000

Can anyone explain this to me? Yes, you can buy and sell the spirit shards for a fixed price of 25gp each in summoning shops such as the one in Taverley which means spirit shards wil always be 25gp.

What happens if shards become 26gp GE?

That wont happen since they are 25gp in the shop.

But, if for some strange reason an enormous group of players decided to over pay for shards in the GE to try and push the price up, people would just buy shards from the shop at 25gp and sell them to the people buying on ge for a small profit.

Ultimately the buyers would have to stop buying shards when they ran out of money, and the GE price of shards would drop again.
