What are the effects on the economy if the duel arena gets removed?

Less gold circulated between players. Stakers will have to find other ways to make gp to buy rares.
It might have positive or negative effect against RWT, i suspect that people usually will try to buy their money back if they lose their bank in the Duel arena. So less of this is going to happen when they remove the duel arena. But on the other hand the only way to make money fast is RWT.
RS3 duel arena doenst have stake taxes like ORS do so the inflation wont be as bad. I do think they are going to introduce a new way for gold sink because they have to...atleast for ORS.

What do YOU think what will happen to the prices of many items if they remove the duel arena?

I think it depends a lot on the few xers who own a ton of rares, are they gonna cash out or keep them. I'd love to see some changes to combat inflation or at least make it easier to trade above max cash.

TBH, I think most items will crash a lot because there won't be as much gold being traded between players because most won't have it so players with items will have no choice but to sell cheaper.

If they increase gold cap/limit rares prices would slowly go back to normal.

I believe any significant change in economy will be caused by herd mentality, and not by any actual impact because staking has always been a practice of a minority of players. Most players don't stake away their hard earned playtime.

The only change I can see it really having on rares is that many rare hoarders might stop playing so much and their rares will be taken out of circulation, due to inactivity. Prices could actually go up but they could also go down so who knows.

Yes, if stakers holding alot of rares decides to quit and less of these gets circulated then yes the prices will go down.
But also if the stakers stop playing then the demand for rares are also lower which will cause prices to go down.
Also I agree that it depends on what these people will do. Will they dump all their rares in the market because theyre quitting or hold ?

Hard to say what will happen

Stakers will probably try to quit by selling their rares. However, Jagex will anticipate their selling. Jagex might catch and stop them all.

If no new rares enter, prices might not fall. If new rares enter, craaash.

There's nothing to buy with gp but a few lower rares and th tokens. Tokens are uncertain. So, the primary sellers will be rwt, if we even see sellers.
