~THIS THREAD IS PURLEY SPECULATION, NOT AN ATTEMPT AT MARKET MANIPULATION~

There have been rumors (unconfirmed gossip, make of it what you will) that there is the possibility of a Gem promo occuring, theoretically resulting in the re-release of the original OG Gem cosmetics: The Gem Cape, The Gem sack, the Gem Crown, The Gem Necklace etc.
(AGAIN, THIS IS JUST RUMOR/UNCONFIRMED GOSSIP!)

It got me thinking, if this where to occur there would be a complete collapse in confidence, of the TH rare items, as worthwhile holdings. A ponzi scheme at best, where one could at any time be rugged and left holding the bag. Again, some are already of the opinion that this is already True of TH rares, but the Original Gem items are viewed as kind of a bulwark, inspiring the possibility that perhaps it will stay a discontinued item, shouldering a perceived favorability that could be financially lucrative.

If of that were to die, would there be a noticeable change in the Runescape 3 economy? Would it result in a Bull Run on classic rares? And Perhaps even the Gold Party Hat, and even the OG Party Hats could be potentially be affected, as fleeing liquidity from a dying TH market could inflate lower rares prices, and perhaps even boost one well positioned merhants holdings into the range of upgrading to a Party Hat. And Vice versa, Downgrading ones hat and diversifying in lowers.

What do you think would happen if the TH rares market where to crash? Unless we are censoring common sense, I would imagine this would cause a Bull Run on rares, unless there is some detail I missed?

I know some people are praying for this to happen lol. I am not one of them, full disclosure I have OG gem unlocked, and I do feel a tinge of Betray and Personal Hurt, at the thought of my once prestigious cosmetic items being instantaneously devalued, but that's just a normal understandable reaction.

Hopefully the mods allow this thread to go through. Unless we are censoring common sense, current events, and completely mainstream opinion. I done all I can to stay within Item Discussion Topic. From micro to macro scale with regards what I personally believe it possible effect. I admit I could be completely wrong and something else entirely could occur, I am open to hearing any speculations.

People still have confidence in TH items after the Rainbow series and Zombie Walk? I think if you still believe they are discontinued, you are living in denial.

TH/sof items lost their value long ago even before they re released zombie walk, the risk has always been there but no1 acknowledged it, resulting in alot of loss.

tbh rumors and gossip only get you so far, only facts make a difference.

personally i dont care about the og tokens, but if they get re released then i hope there arent any naive ppl around thinking th/sof holds any value in this game.

i recall people were sad when they re released zombie walk saying it should be discontinued, but the only thing i recall is that there is no discontinued th/sof item up till this point, same with green santa hat, people thought it was discontinued even tho jatex said it would recur at some point in time, ppl losing billions because they didnt gather enough information about the item, now people say they might change it into a discontinued item which i find hard to believe since its literally a th item, but greed always wins in this case.
trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.

After what they did to Rainbow, Zombie Walk and Shadow Gems I'm just waiting for them to do the same to the Gem items. Rank #56 Overall. 8000/1****? Hard caskets stacked. 7000/8****? Elite caskets stacked.

this is just your yearly low stooped thread u have to make, gratz to see you're still keeping yourself that low on the ladder. Don't trust any pc's listed, any advice or talks between posts on ID forums anymore , the Manips are let loose, especially the main one with 15+ accounts posting acting as different people.. do your own research

Faith was lost in tokens long ago. Comparing tokens to other rares is just stupid.
Sounds like you are just speaking from your own wishes.
Rares are just about at their new bottoms again after the dump a few week ago, the cycle will just be repeated again, pump and dump..

I doubt it, even if they did crash, it isnt like the SOF rares were ever worth tangible funds. All that would happen is people who actually wanted the cosmetics would get access to them, because it would be finally a reasonable price. Jagex would make some money and well the people who thought tokens were a get rich quick scheme would lose out. Mass contributor to deaths coffers.

Sir, this will not stop the
decline
in the rare market. The event that you speak of and the impacts of it already happened last year. :P
