I gotta ask...

I get that the screenshots are used to "verify" or show "proof" that the trade was confirmed, but what's to stop two very wealthy people to manipulate the prices by getting together and saying, "Alright, trade me this amount and when we get to the last trade window, you accept, I'll screenshot showing you accepted and then we'll cancel the trade after."?

Are there other methods/steps that prevent this type of manipulation?

Nothing. That doesn't mean it's not worthwhile, though. This isn't designed to be a foolproof mechanism, it's designed to be better than nothing . There are a few reasons we use this method:

1. It makes it a bit more inconvenient to lie about or fake a trade, since there's a bit more effort involved to do so.

2. When someone trades for an item (such as trading a Santa for an Easter + Shards) but claims they sold it for a gold value, it helps provide the actual details of the trade so you can evaluate whether or not that gold value is accurate.

3. It's simple. The more complex you make the reporting process, the less people will want to jump through all the hoops to share information.

As always, take every price in this thread with caution. Besides the potential for deceptive posts, there are also many trades that go unreported. These threads are best used as a price guideline, not as an absolute source of truth.
Tiles. Give them a use!
