I have started getting treasure maps from my keys that only have a cosmetic function. Is this the case, or is the item bugged?

Um, I think there is a cosmetic like that. I dunno much about the game post-2008, but I think there's some super cheap map thing you can buy in the ge. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity.

You can dig up the chest without reading it as its the same location for everyone. Mass contributor to deaths coffers.

Except that the maps don't offer an option to dig at all.

Yes you need a spade in inventory.

This isnt a clue scroll after all so of course it doesnt give you that option.
