It was annoying as fk to get one piece and then not get the other....

I had robe top last summer, but then bottoms wouldn't fill for weeks. So sold robe top.

Then had bottoms, and robe top wouldn't fill for the price I was told. So sold that.

Not easy to get both at the same time.

just say you were flipping them it doesn't really matter lol. I've been flipping 2a since release date and i can promise you 2a mage wasn't as hard to buy as you make it sound... last month i was trying to sell bottoms for 1700m and they just wouldn't sell

The only things you've been flipping or buying are the 150m weapon pieces.

Second Age Mage is max or over max now so it might be tough to acquire more pieces. Near the start they were 3b a piece because of a special someone. I wouldn't be surprised if Melee or Range ended up max too down the road because of Wise or someone else.

Times change. I was careful enough to avoid buying items when they are released. I waited and see what value they would become after a year has passed.

As for scarcity, there are parallels to be drawn with edibles.

A few months back, merchants were like wines are junk (NO "DEMAND&quot ;) . Now the same people are begging me for wine (GL getting one now if you didn't get one already). I couldn't sell disk for 700m just several weeks back. Now look where they are...

I had the cash to spare and I didn't want to beg Wise or some other dude for a set to wear later on.
If you are willing to chuck your most precious possessions like phats because someone said words like crashing/dying/quitting and then find yourself unable to rebuy for what you sold for, then you don't deserve to own a phat.

sweetie you can't compare ACTUAL rares to 2a which isn't even discontinued and second-tier best for wealth showcase. Any 3rd age/blood dyed set beats 2a in expenses and looks.
An inspiration to many, with a heart of gold. Be kind today, tomorrow and everyday!

Reading up above so ill add to it, the thing you must understand is that item prices of 2nd Age are inflated and are artificial this can be said about discontinued items there are certain players I wont name names who are beyond wealthy some have over 2trillion they have nowhere to put there excess gold anymore because 2147mil in gp and items is the maximum limit going by Java scripts.

I have been burnt on second age melee enough times for example selling Plate and legs at 1.7bil then re-buying them when they rose to 2.4bil then not being able to sell them for break even prices [must stress this is a point of comparison not manipulation] so From this I gathered that whatever demand or supply is out there its superficial and artificial, there isn't any real demand for anything anymore now that a new generation of players have come into the game who are poor'er than generations proceeding it, and most of the veterans who propped up the market are now in Old School Runescape so the demand and supply has shifted to other Runescape gaming platforms, this is bad for me and other players who got stuck with a boat load of second age which was artificially inflated and someone left us stuck with it.

But I guess it is just a game and not to draw to much into that fact, we should only view this game as a means of entertainment and not as a monetary machine which the real world traders and merchants have turned it into, I doubt anyone who plays this game anymore sees it as the joy it once was that fact Jagex created something grand and the community turned it into a corrupt warped perspective of artificial value and having more is more.

Its all greed and you are not alone with Second Age guys Im stuck with tons of it :( just wanted to give you my 2cents if its worth anything that helps them see another in the same situation, the question is will I hold it? Probably so I am in to deep now in the Titanic sinking ship :D

^If you don't have the money to support owning 2nd age long-term, then don't buy it. It's for people who already feel they got everything else they wanted like, for example, phat set, crackers, edible set, etc.

This is why I held off buying 2nd age mage for so long because I didn't feel confident about committing so much money before. It's like buying a mansion or a Picasso painting. If you walked down the street and asked random people, do you think you would get a fair offer from anyone within a short period of time?

If you are having trouble paying for gear or other basic wants/needs, then blowing a large chunk of your wealth on 2nd age is probably not a good fit for you. I had a neighbor who made some fast money and spent it on a Ferrari, but regretted buying it because he ended up needing the wealth for more basic necessities when life got harder.

After I saw Evy/Wardjeet got hers, I was like ... I got spare cash now and I better get a set ASAP because I definitely don't want to beg Evy/Wardjeet to buy hers on street.

Some people say lobsters in real life are overpriced nowadays. After all, lobsters were junk 100 years ago. Then a French chef made it fashionable and everyone wanted some.
If you are willing to chuck your most precious possessions like phats because someone said words like crashing/dying/quitting and then find yourself unable to rebuy for what you sold for, then you don't deserve to own a phat.
