A couple of reasons. Arch was released, thus most codices rose as a lot fewer people were doing other skills - supply dropped/became nonexistent but still limited demand was there for those not doing Arch. The smart ones amongst us would have seen this would happen and brought up as many codices as possible, holding on to them and then dumping just before DXP. DXP kicked in, people stopped Arch and flooded back to agility/ED's, increasing supply and crashing the price.
