I don't like how my partyhat shows up smaller than it shows up on male characters. Also, when I wear a Santa hat, it looks like there are holes in the hat - my hair shows through those holes.

TBH I don't see any holes and your hair through them at all from your forum avatar.
Size of items relative to character size will probably be a non-issue in the future (probably not this year though) as a "leaked" Runescape Remastered footage has shown Jagex has been working on engine updates which will allow us to scale our avatars. This is going to trickle down to RS3's game engine and eventually our avatars will have height and size just like all the other AAA quality video games. It is going to be very exciting, although not this year probably.
This year the World Guardian will have a face. Perhaps next year, the World Guardian will have different heights and body sizes to choose from.

Also adding all the male/female things that look so diff.
The web cape from the halloween event years ago.
Males.. its long, looks fabulous.
Females... its short and looks stupid.
I think for most part females get short end of the stick.
We look like odd people instead of a woman.
The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.
Yesterday's art livestream demo actually gave me the feeling of a slight difference in character height and size because of the improved model renderer and the new spherical camera. I know to implement different height and size will probably require engine change eventually, but we are definitely moving progress in this direction every week, if not day.
