I am a card carrying member of the godless (their more zealous members notwithstanding), and we haven't heard much from/about them lately. I'm hoping to see more of them, namely Ux (the demon member mentioned in the in game book), some equipment/cosmetics, and some impact on the story. We already lost their connection to invention, dammit, let's see some results!

I’d be surprised if we ever saw Godless content - they have all but been forgotten. Removed from Invention, World Events were scrapped, quests introducing the God Factions have been stopped and there is no room for them in the Elder God Wars storyline other than a cameo at best.

An interesting concept left undeveloped.

I imagine the reason the Godless haven't appeared much recently is simple; there's not much room for them in the current Elder God War plot arc.

Right now, with the exception of Zaros (and possibly Zamorak, who hasn't done much of anything since Sliske's Endgame; though I imagine he would side with us if push came to shove as utter extinction doesn't leave much room for the chaos he loves so much), the gods that are currently on Gielinor are explicitly our allies against a much larger threat. Seren is leading the council against the Elder Gods. Saradomin is taking a direct role as well, as seen in the Battle for the Monolith. Armadyl, while not taking a direct role as far as we've seen, seems to be supporting Seren.

The way things currently stand, choosing to fight against the gods in general would be biting the hand that feeds us: a suicidal move when the power and knowledge of most of Gielinor's gods are instrumental in the fight to stop the Elder Gods from killing everyone .

Once that threat has been dealt with, however? Then, and not a moment sooner, could I see the Godless resurfacing, as we debate whether we need gods on Gielinor anymore without worrying about an even larger threat obliterating everyone. Zaros' actions during the Battle for the Monolith, and how he unleashed the Anathema onto Gielinor for his own selfish ambitions, will most certainly give the Godless' cause a great deal of ammunition when that time comes. But that time isn't when the Elder God Wars are about to begin.

(spoilers for City of Senntisten below)

I think the events of City of Senntisten might lead into what I said above. Assuming they all survive the battles ahead, Seren, Armadyl, Saradomin, and Zamorak are all going to become even stronger as a side effect of them siphoning anima from the Elder God eggs. That, combined with Zaros' actions and the damage they've caused, might serve as a catalyst for the Godless to rally even harder against the gods when this is all said and done. After all, Saradomin and Zamorak's battle during the first World Event caused massive collaterial damage, and their power post-siphon will likely be exponentially stronger. I can imagine that the Godless will do anything in their power to prevent them starting another war.

Something I forgot about in my earlier post; during Azzanadra's Quest, it was revealed that the Edict of Guthix utilized Shadow Anima as a power source, which explains why it was so successful at keeping the gods out. I imagine, if the Godless were to learn about this, they'll want to pursue this lead as much as possible, as if they could somehow replicate its effect, it'd be a nearly perfect way of getting what they want: a world beyond the reach of any god (well, assuming we can find a way to get them off-world before it happens so they're not trapped in here with us; also, assuming there's no god out there that can somehow get past it)

Unless Jagex starts to show them love by dropping a whole bunch of quests or other content featuring them, they're functionally irrelevant. Since their content keeps getting shoved onto the backburner, I'm not very confident we'll be seeing much from them.

Frankly, I'm glad we haven't gotten much more from them. They took Guthix's ideology to an extreme and even Guthix was wrong for thinking that he could just leave Gielinor alone without the influence of gods... I mean, his whole reason for believing that was bitterness. It had nothing to do with philosophy or morality and entirely because he was bitter over the death of Aagi. If Guthix couldn't keep the gods out permanently, if even the World Guardian struggles to prevent the destruction, how on earth do regular mortals think they're going to succeed?

A prime example of this was during Tuska Comes. Vorago killed her but only because he drained a crapload of anima from Gielinor which, undoubtedly, contributed to the hastened awakening of the elder gods. They may have short-lived victories but they've only contributed toward chaos and destruction.

But anyways, I didn't mean to derail things here. I'm definitely not a fan of the godless but I do love that the lore is designed in such a way that we can have discussions about the philosophies of the different factions, religions and worldviews.

I was just thinking about this the other day. The godless faction appears to have dropped of the face of the earth haha. I suspect that there isn't much room for them in the elder gods arc seeing as the younger gods are pretty much allied with us against the larger threat that is the elder gods.

Just a few HAM members can't do a thing other than fighting against low level goblins. How is it surprising to see the godless in hiding when they hear the footsteps of the Dragonkin and Elder Gods?

Jagex has just been liberal to let a few low level NPCs to call themselves the godless. Of course, the Helpless won't stand a chance when their leader is the pathetic Sigmund. The real Godless is actually Varago who actually doesn't care about the existence and returning of the gods - meaning he just doesn't follow any god other than fighting against them.

The Helpless are just being used by a few incompetent mortals who tried to make up an excuse to go up in ranking in a powerless guild.
