With the upcoming Android/iOS mobile platforms release, I was curious if logging into RuneScape on your Apple device locks your account to the device’s Apple ID. I plan to hijack my wife’s iPad for a day or two to see if I like playing RuneScape on it. However, a few other games I’ve played can now only be played on her account for saved content associated with her Apple ID. If I got an iPad for myself I’d want to use my account on my own Apple ID. Thank you.

Can't imagine why it would lock it to an Apple ID. Most apps that do don't have separate account access credentials from the associated Apple ID. Those that do (like RuneScape or Pokémon Go) tend to not care what device or Apple ID you use since the save data is bound to the username and password rather than to the Apple ID.
