They are creating a lot of buffs too. Living games rely on adding new content often, if not every week.

Server issues have nothing to do with CONTENT updates, and evidently so when you realized they happened on the WEEKEND, but RS3's last game update came 10 days before it. Remember, last week was RS3's rare no-update-week because RS3 Jomds were happily presenting their projects in GameJam.

There was an OSRS update on last Thursday, just prior to the weekend server issues you mentioned though. However, if you are talking about OSRS updates causing server issus, sorry wrong forum.

Agreed. We can't really enjoy your new updates on monday if we randomly get disconnected. I almost missed my flash event with my friend because I was force dced randomly, I was typing a message to them and the game just froze and then logged me out. It wasn't my internet connection, it's jagex's busted servers.

A statement on the US East Coast issue from the OSRS Team:

"We've been investigating recent server issues that arose since Saturday, March 11th, leading to connectivity issues impacting some US worlds. We have since seen reports of issues impacting some EU worlds.

Maintaining a stable and reliable Old School RuneScape experience remains a priority for us, especially when it involves an impact to your experience. We continuously invest heavily in protecting our game worlds and we have been working with partner companies to resolve the issues, alongside putting mitigations in place that should see significant improvements to service.

Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain stability. We'll keep you updated as we have any further news to share.

The Old School Team"

Seems like it was an OSRS issue, but the OSRS team is looking into it.

As for RS3, they also made a general statement with references to general server issues earlier in the year, but not pertaining to the US East Coast servers outages seemingly concerning OP:

"Early this year, we've had a few instances of different Worlds going down unexpectedly - and we know that's been a frustrating experience for anyone caught in the incident."

I don't see how server issues "early this year" in RS3 have anything to do with their current game updates. However, if you are talking about OSRS game updates amid US East Coast server outages on the March 11 weekend, then perhaps you can discuss more with the OSRS community in the OSRS forum. :)
