Hello Heathens,

While doing the Christmas event, you get to a certain point in the quest where you have to give people presents. I picked Bill, in fort Forinthry, as one of my recipients. When my player asked him what did he get? Bill responded with, "a very long contract to rework player housing". Something like that. Is this a hint that the player owned houses/ POH, will get the long awaited rework/update?

POH has already being reworked to the vast benefits of the players. It is called Fort Forinthry.

I won't doubt we are going to see even more POH features being not just ported to POH, but significantly improved there.

This Duke of Fort Forinthry won't mind to have Bill put up my Player Owned Castle in the Fort. I will also like to have my office constructed in oval shape too.

No its just a joke.
A classic Jagex joke Runescape is full of these jokes that's why I examine a lot of things and read the chat lines. :D

"Jokes" seemingly in the past might be reality in the future, if not now already.

Don't forget the Ice Mountain Oracle "jokess". Basically all of them have become reality in RS3... like the foretelling of the Dragonkin and Stone of Jas.

I can certainly see future updates in the construction themed Fort Forinthry going forward, even the Fort Forinthry Season is over. We can continue to use the Fort as a hub and keep constructing post-seasion content... Perhaps when the battles and conflicts have switched to Misthalin early next year, finally it is time to start municipal construction in the peaceful Fort with content like GE that many players asked for but not quite logical and feasible during battle time, party room and such... and don't forget my Player Own Castle and Oval Office. :)

Honestly, the fort was the best idea for construction in awhile. They could set up new locations beyond the fort as well that could work like it. That is the most likely direction instead of the POH.

We already have new locations like City of Um that can be built upon. We may even have a remastered Misthalin as soon as next month. Daemonheim digsite is also coming up and we can build on it. With the new stories to be discovered in Daemonheim, it is also not too farfetched to expand Fort Forinthry toward Daemonheim, or eventually have both connected.

Plenty of episodic story driven construction ideas in place already. No need for new locations if they aren't connected to the ongoing epic episodic stories.

Some of the jokes are better than others. I didn't much like the quips about the easter bunny being gone for several years coming from an NPC that existed solely to promote a TH outfit and kept walking into the skilling areas. Joking about a much requested PoH update that'll never come could be taken poorly by some players.

They're clearly aware that people want to see the PoH get reworked, so it'd be a good idea to talk about it some more. I get the impression they'd pretty much have to completely redo PoH functionality in some other form and find a way to either carry over the things players worked on or make it less of a hassle that they have to redo it. I got the impression that the fort served some of that purpose with the chapel and the skilling stations but there are still a fair few aspects of the PoH they'd have to do that for to completely replace it.
