Thought I would start a thread for all currently existing items etc. that benefit Combat that should be integrated with Necromancy. Hopefully Jagex may see this and anything on the list might prompt them to think 'ah yes, forgot about that one!' :D

As an example: Archaeology relic power 'Inspire Awe' provides 2% more xp training Combat skills (currently Attack, Strength, Defence, Magic, Ranged, Constitution, Prayer and Summoning).

What other items etc. do you hope to see work with Necromancy?

Existing xp things most likely won't work for the first six months - they never do for new skills. And if they do they're quickly hotfixing them in a fashion they won't - like with the pulse cores last time.

I think they said the wise perk will work. Albeit seeing you'll need some augmentable necromancy weapon or armour first, it's technically not 'existing'. Probably usable with the sliske set (but that reminds me, that there still are tons of hybrid sets, yet none of them being augmentable - exception being sliske).

Equipment on the other hand is fair game. So a good hybrid ring, amulet, pocket thingy and cape will bring you forward. Also non-generic combat auras.

Nope. They're going to rename it.

Other questions

Q: Will Necromancy robes from Shades of Mort'ton work as Necromancy robes?

A: They will not, and probably be renamed.

We have this new skill and we have to balance it with all the new items first. If players want legacy items to gain necromancy abilities/functions then we can absolutely address it in the future. And if we did address them we may modify them further to retain the style we've developed for Necromancy. Visual language/storytelling.

So for this particular item we are looking to rename it so tweet Mod Rowley for name suggestions.

The necromancer robes are what you get after using the kit on dagon'hai robes. Of course they're the same, since the kit never had had any other functionality than this. And obviously they won't add another functionality when they do not even convert said robes to real 'necromancy' ones.

To be honest. They haven't said it word by word - but you can expect them to rename the kit as well.

Unless you're talking about some entirely different necromancy kit, which the wiki doesn't show me, since it's even more obscure.

Yeah as said - they'll rename it. That's kinda the in between - won't be used for necromancy, but they're getting rid of any implication it has to do something with that. Can't say I am disappointed about excluding something from some 18 years old minigame, which mechanically hasn't really evolved from that much.

Same Q&A basically said they want to mainly focus on new stuff first, but they could go back to review older things like the magister and taraket to be included in some fashion. Other than that, there's a full list of things on their announcement post on the RS page - including lots of different bones, several magic sets and the spectral spirit shield.
