I dont get it, Jagex nerfs item so in the future they dont have to make stronger / better stuff.

o well, it must be more FUNN this way. Its a game right... supposed to be fun...

got 1 of 3 parts (symbol piece) of the FSOA staff

I get it actually. Two things:

(1) We have exciting new Magic related items/mechanics, perhaps the FSOA tier, coming up soon with Necromancy.

(2) The remastered 0.3s Tick system is not too far away. :)

I know the FSOA has been out for like 2 years and its something so many people have spent hours after hours grinding forever just to be able to finally get one. I didn't ever think I was goin to save enough for one, but recently I finally got one. I should of known my luck I just hope the price doesnt drop a ton and all that time I spent was for nothing

I don't know about the future price, but street price of FSOA actually has moved up from 2.5 bil before the Jmod Reddit Q&A yesterday to 2.8 bil now.

And animate dead,
Im not a great Pvmer by any means and while im slowly getting better and slowly moving up I have a long way to go. And the death cost re work I thought was for getting more players to get into PVM. That a lot of new content a small percentage of players are able to do and locked behind billons a gp. I could be wrong I cant fully remember but animate dead has helped me a lot and i hope it still will

You don't have to be a PvMer to know Animate Dead doesn't have a thing to do with FSOA that OP is talking about. Animate Dead is also not an item, you don't have to spend billion to buy anything to use it.


I know its a spell I just was talking about the update, more rambling sorry I know not what thread was for

"The changes we have in mind are focused on the FSOA's Special Attack:

Special attack effect no longer does autoattack damage but instead the extra hit is passed through as an ability

This means there is no longer the cost of runes for each extra crit

A projectile is no longer sent from the player to the target as expected from an auto-attack

Instead, the green lightning effect from the special attack cast animation will play on the target when hit with an extra hit from a successful proc

Special attack effect can no longer trigger off of itself removing the recursive nature

Special attack effect now deals 60-120% ability damage with each hit.

AVG 90% ability damage per fire.

What this means is the effective damage of the FSOA will be moved to a balanced place where it performs as a weapon of that level should (as a result of losing it’s recursive nature) while also becoming less of a Rune-eating fiend!"

That will devastate the community...

that will make it more like a t92... well the ones with no effects.

Less rune usage over less damage? Said no PvMer ever.

I get they were too generous with the "auto-attack" based damage. But seriously? that will make it on par with an SoS; and it will definatly need an SoS after that update!!!

I think keep most the same; with the damage being ability based; and more trying to keep a similar damage rate up using smaller; continous recursive crits until the special times out; limiting the damage rate but still maintaining good functionality. Not simply relying on Large RNG based crits with no effort;
