I can't seem to verify whether Supreme Overloads will be updated or not with necromancy. Can anyone give a source for a statement from Jagex saying whether or not a stockpile of supremes/elders will be worthwhile before the update?
An interesting question. Standard overloads will be updated to require a necromancy potion, so it's a good idea to make those now.
As for supremes, it's been stated that they will require three of each potion to make rather than four. That implies they will include a necromancy potion, too.

While they haven't said anything about that, it's certainly possible, that jagex increases the xp of standard overloads to accommodate the increased material requirements. Of course it's also possible they'll just screw you over and just leave you with increased costs without any additional output.
I think it would have been cleaner if they had changed standard overloads to 3x each potion as well. Also depends on how expensive necromancy potions will be to make in the end - if they use dirt cheap secondaries, it could be preferable to wait making supremes (since you would use fewer of the potentially more expensive other potions) - but that said: us common folks just doesn't know.

Post release supreme overloads will require super necromancy potions to make, much like the overload will require an extreme necromancy potion.
The batch recipe for supreme ovls will change to make 4 using 3 sets of materials (+33% bonus) instead of make 5 using 4 (+25% bonus) sets of materials.
Elder overloads will also gain necromancy buffs but the recipe won't change for them.
I'd make sure you have enough to get you by for a few weeks upgraded to supreme (or elder) at least as the cost to buy or make necromancy potions is unknown and could be quite high initially.
If you can't use the batch recipe the cape gives then it'd be strictly better to upgrade to supreme in advance to cut out the extra potion cost.
However if you can benefit from the improved batch recipe and it turns out to be cheap to make necromancy potions then it could be better to hold off on making any more than you'd need in the short term to benefit from the improved batch recipe.
