I don't know why you get the "hype". Yak Track was never about hype. It was optional QoL content to everybody. Hero Pass will just be even better QoL to everybody, IM included now. Not really anything any big streamers will call "huuuggggeeeee"!

Maybe because Jagex made September sound like it would have an " Major update" and it tuned out to be nothing more than MTX? Your right though, Yak tracks are not hype material at all and neither is the Hero Pass.

The Hero Pass update is indeed a major one as it gives major content for most players to play for throughout the year, just not all major updates mean hyppppeeeeee. FYI, Season/Battle Passes are major content in most other online games too. Considering some games put even 5 minutes fetch Halloween and Christmas quests on their roadmap as major headliners, RS3's Hero Pass is certainly more major than that. :)

Let's look at the Max Cash update, it was certainly a major update as it improved our gameplay experience significantly, but I don't think many players are hyppppppeeedd by it, or at least RS3 did get streamers 30-50k viewers to show us how huuuuuggggeeee it was.

What MTX you are talking about? They are removing MTX from Hero Pass. We can no longer buy Skip in Hero Pass. It is a reduction of MTX.

Yawn! Implied major game changes, much as certain people would like to dress this mutton as lamb it is still mutton. The awkwardness of the Jmods on yesterdays stream was clear, 70% + of viewers disliked what was presented... Ignored all the community questions and kicked the ball into the long grass. sounded like a load of bad politicians to be honest

It wasnt a good presentation by Jagex, Fail to prepare, prepare to fail etc.

Reading between the lines dont think they really believed the garbage they were spouting.

@ Lions Rawr, yep spot on with my sentiment, indeed with the sentiment of the majority of the viewers of this 'game changing' announcement.

Some people just don't realize most others still play a piece of content even if they don't care about it. I doubt if 70% of RS3 players care about Yak Track anyway.

Jagex did tell us about the switch to Hero Pass is for the engagement. Players don't have to like Hero Pass but when they engage in it, it will be great for Jagex. Now that if RS3 announced Yak Track Speed Run Worlds and 70% of the Reddit users said huuugggeeee but in reality all they found were 10 concurrent players on those Speed Run servers then not just Jagex but the entire game industry and critics like Asmongold would say... Yawn, missed by a mile 15 years.... how come Jagex is so out of touch.

This isn't about MTX? Removing daily challenges and the free keys is nothing but a money grab. JMods complaining that people have been abusing free keys, even though it's content they knowingly put into the game and have had for ages. You know what I consider abuse? The fact that you can still buy bonds with IRL currency and get fat stacks of keys. But if you play the game regularly and don't want to participate in that foolishness, you watch others just load up on proteans and xp regardless from TH. Let's call this update what it is: yak trak 2.0 with strings attached because Jagex corporate overlords don't want to see precious keys given out for free when they can charge people an arm and a leg for them. I'm indifferent about the Hero Pass and hopefully it is a welcome change, but the BS along with it with Jagex claiming they're doing us a service by diminishing our access to keys is total BS.

Daily challenges take 5 mins and earn you 220k extra xp (more if 120 skills). The new ones will take 10x longer and give you a huge lamp worth only 68k xp, or a med lamp worth about 30k xp or a small lamp worth 9k xp.

Can you do the maths and tell us which one is better?

We have 3 tiers of Daily Mission Rewards, not just one. Please read the blog again.

Besides, and more importantly, xp reward is not the post you replied to is about. The person I replied to complained about TH. More or less xp rewards don't mean a thing to TH keys.
