Does Jagex even know their audience anymore? Whose bright idea was it to make Jagex accounts operate in the manner that they do? Let’s be real, a big appeal of Runescape is its accessibility and ease of entry. You can play it on pretty much any machine that has internet and electricity at this point. The player base for this game is largely composed of young and middle-aged adults. So why would Jagex incentivize changing your account and making it so that you can't play it anywhere. I feel like "upgrading" my account has absolutely ruined my account and any value or pride I had in it. I've been playing since 2004 and for the first time, I can't play my account how, when, or where I wanted to. Yes, I play at work and no, it’s not anyone’s place to respond with “you shouldn’t be playing at work.” Anyone who responds with that can mind their own business because a lot of us are privileged to have jobs that allow us to do this. Now, I can’t play at work and due to that, I am going to be quitting Runescape until it’s fixed or permanently if it never is. This game is way too grindy for me to play on my free time so the biggest appeal was that I could play monotonous tasks at work and fun PvE outside of work. Now that I cannot do this; I will be putting the game down. No, I’m not here for a farewell or to make a scene. I’m only posting this because of how frustrated I am with this decision or at least the flaw within this decision. I honestly think this is more detrimental to the game than EoC and wilderness removal a decade ago. How come we need admin rights to install this? Why would it make previous logins obsolete? If anything, you should be able to login with either your old information or new. I’m done, this is utterly stupid, and it limits the game and the accessibility to it which is one of the main draws of Runescape’s charm. Until this is sorted out, I can no longer play and I’m sure there’s others in the same boat and before people suggest mobile, no, just no.
