The news post discusses a community event with an XP reward:

"You'll get the chance to obtain Rex skeletal fragments while you're excavating in Orthen. Use these fragments to contribute to a paleontological project back at the base camp. When it's complete, all the volunteers who took part will receive an amazing XP buff, to the tune of 25% more XP in all of the following activities:"

Does this mean that the XP boost is a permanent buff? If so, does that mean anyone who is not level 90+ archaeology by the time of the event and/or cannot participate is permanently disadvantaged and will never have access to the massive 25% XP boost?

I've read it as being similar to the pylon boost in Kharid-Et digsite. ……., ' ,……………..{¨ˆ*·¸Rëñé Škät¸·*'ˆ¨}…………….., ' ,

Unlike the Karid-et phylons, the Orthen event seems to only benefit the ones who participate (i.e. digging up dino bones and contribute to the reconstruction of skeletal Rex). But you need to be at least level 90 to dig so I assume those who are below 90 Archaeology and not skilling on the Orthen Digsite won't get any buff.

So you think it's a repeatable event (build the dino, it gives the buff, then collapses after a period of time), not a one-time event (like building the boat to Anachronia originally, Tuska's crash, etc)?

When it is said to be similar to the phylon event, it should be repeatable and not a one-time event.

I think the purpose is to give players the opportunity to diversify their activities. Say, I am digging up bones for Archaeology now, but when the 25% buff becomes active, I am given the choices to play BGH or train agility.

This is a very good idea. Archaeology is already not boring to most people. Now that we are giving even more varieties of activities for 25% buff on other skills/activities too. This skill is pretty well designed for more causal players.

As mentioned above, this is a repeatable event.

When activated, it lasts for 65 minutes, and the boost applies to all activities on the island of Anachronia. It was described in the livestream to work in a similar way to the Kharid-Et Pylons.

Okay I was just wanting to make sure of that. I'm more of a casual player (don't watch the live streams and only came back after the initial wave of archaeology hype wore off). I wanted to make sure it wasn't something that I and others would get locked out of (like the complaints about the mahjarrat aura or whatever that was), and I'm glad to hear that it isn't.

And I personally enjoy archaeology quite a bit since I'm a fan of the lore, but I'm also only level 68 and know that it's a bit slow to train (not complaining about that, but it would have made getting to 90 in 2 weeks a challenge).

Dilbert, I agree, I think it is a good idea for them to implement!

Cheers everyone!
