just finished reading the latest news on playing runescape.

do i get it clear that those players whom have a older account that only logs in with a players name and a login pin who don't have an e-mail will lose there ability to play after the 7th of november?

or did i get it wrong?

if so please inform players without an e-mail how to enter into the jagex account posibility

That statement was with regards to the Jagex Launcher - If you currently use the Jagex Launcher with your RuneScape account, from 7 November on if you log out of the launcher you will need to upgrade to a Jagex Account to continue to use it.

From what I can tell, access via the normal game clients if you do not use the Jagex Launcher is unaffected as of now, however, eventually all players will require a Jagex Account to play and will need to use the Jagex Launcher.

Are you saying you don't have an email linked to RuneScape, or you don't have an email full-stop?

If you do have an email, part of the Jagex Accounts process is linking your RS account to your email.

If you don't have an email, there are many companies you can get an email address from for free. Hotmail and Google mail are a couple of examples.

As Apple says, you're not going to be locked out - just yet. However, there will become a point where you need a Jagex Account to play RS.

There is no way to reverse the process.

It has gone through an extensive Beta testing period now, and I've not heard about any issues that have not been fixed. Jagex are clearly confident that if any issues do come up they can be easily dealt with by the Jagex team in a timely manner.

I am upset with this forced update as well. I don’t care how much confidence jagex has about this, I have had my account secure for 20 years. Forcing everyone’s accounts into one spot is just not something I want to consent to without losing progress that was made from before the people In charge started making these kinds of decisions. Jagex (from what I hear) is changing owners in the future anyways so asking me to trust the well being of my 20 year old account to someone that doesn’t even care enough about the players to do a proper Halloween event is such a tall ask.

Please leave Jagex accounts as optional. If they work they work, you can keep doing promos to manufacture more consent but I am Very happy sending you my monthly membership as it is.

Is it too much to ask to give players a choice?
