If they came back as echoes or memories of the world events then sure, that could possibly work. But it wouldn’t make much sense for the world events to come back, in their original form.

Hey remember that
dead big high war god
well they’re back but for one week only, unless you change the events outcome.

Cutscenes of past events may come back, but I have a feeling future World Events will ends up giving us very significant permanent content.

When the Tuska World Event ended, we got Anima Island, which is more like a minigame with very meaningful rewards like Tuska's Wrath. I'll think next World Event will bring us even bigger permanent content in the form of Erebus and even more game changing rewards than Tuska's Wrath.

Some of them could probably be reworked into miniquests or something. Sometimes holiday events had lore relevance too and I always felt it was a shame that people would permanently miss out on that or that it would be content you wouldn't be able to re experience in any capacity. I was there for the event where Death first mentioned his horsemen buddies but not when they actually showed up.

They eventually made permanent holiday quests, which seems like a nice way to give events story content without players missing out after the fact. I think it'd be nice to get more consistent use out of some holiday characters, maybe bring back the snow imp buddy and squirrel minions now that you can't summon them from their associated summoning items. The spring crown also seems like something that could come back with the ability to add more charges for evil trees.

Something I didn't like about the world events was that it didn't seem like the right way to go about allowing players to influence events. While I understand that Zamorak surviving the battle of Lumbridge despite his loss has better story potential, it always left a bad taste with the implication of him receiving special treatment relative to other gods who got killed off. Some of them also required joining specific factions and F2P couldn't even take part in the Bandos vs Armadyl one despite it taking place in F2P locations.

Really, lore stuff is meant for quests, which allow players to experience events dating back before the present time of the game now that we have the 5th and 6th age divide. Focusing that lore into quests would minimize how much becomes permanently missable content for newer players. Replayable minigames and D&Ds and something like the sagas could be other options besides quests.

We had one in the Oasis and not many people were participating in it.

That wasnt a "world event".

Look at the past ones for context.

I participated in the Saradomin vs. Zamorak, and the Tuska event. We skill as a community to unlock the rewards at the end by gathering tokens or by maxing out the activity progress bar. What's the difference other than you pick one side and you get generic hybrid armor from that team? The Oasis was relevant to the elder gods' questline if you are referring to lore reasons.
