We should also keep in mind Rasial was murdered in the First Age, but Guthix didn't throw the Sword of Edicts to the Wildy Crater before the 3rd Age. So even though quite obvious Raisal and perhaps his murder might be related to the Sword of Edicts, there was really no indication Rasial had anything to do with the Wildy crater or the Infernal Source had anything to do with them.
The Sword of Edicts is very interesting though, as Raisial also own sword resembling Guthix's Edicts and it murdered the World Guardian. The observable difference between Guthix's sword and Rasial's are the engravings. "Behave" was engraved into the Sword of Edicts while "Agress" was marked on Rasial's. Not sure if Rasial got his sword from Guthix or the Shadow though.
BTW, it seems like the "shadow" is the "dark god", or at least was referred as such in Jagex's 2010 official trailer introducing the Signature Hereos, Necromancy and an undead dragon looking like the RS3 Vorkath in 2023.

We don't know if Jagex still call the shadow or Xau-Tak a god, but originally they were planned as a "dark god".
