What about necromancer items?

Q: Will Necromancy robes from Shades of Mort'ton work as Necromancy robes?
A: They will not, and probably be renamed.

We have this new skill and we have to balance it with all the new items first. If players want legacy items to gain necromancy abilities/functions then we can absolutely address it in the future. And if we did address them we may modify them further to retain the style we've developed for Necromancy. Visual language/storytelling.

So for this particular item we are looking to rename it so tweet Mod Rowley for name suggestions.

Great! This absolutely shows RS3 has no intention to make old magic items part of the new Necromancy skill system, because Magic and Necromancy are two (2) totally different skills.

On a related note, Game content and items have diversities. Some items and content are by design different than the others, regardless of their "names". For instance, Vampyres alikes must be damaged by specific silver sickle and Sunspear variants, some slayer mobs van only be attacked with certain slayer items. Likewise, we are told some new mobs can only be fought with Necromancy, the old "necromancy robes" or whatever it is going to be renamed don't belong in Necromancy by design.
