Of all the buzz around the next set of content that will brace our screens, it was nice to see that Jagex has also taken on the " seasonal" Content that so many in the game industry have done. It would seem that the current Fort Forinthry Season was an success and rightfully so. It was content that revolved around the fort and I hope to see that same level of content with the Necromancy season. With that being said though here is my predictions for the content we will see:

- The season content will revolve around a story that will have the new skill at its core. Perhaps it will be like the the archeological dig sites stories
-Will come with a new boss
-Most likely the wilderness will be the center of the story ( to continue from the Fort Forintry season).

What are your predictions? please be respectful and if you are going to quote, site the source so we can all read it too.

There will be no digsite. We probably gather items in most places and use them on some ritual sites. The story will likely revolve around Zamorakian Mahjarrat, Daemonheim, the Dragonkin and Xau-Tak.

We already know about Moia's adventures and ordeals with Xau-Tak. That's where her suddenly found super-Mahjarrat-like powers came from.

New runes or rune-like items should come with Necromancy. We see all those new symbols from the Necromancy introduction trailer.

Jagex has just released a cryptic sneak peek hint of Necromancy in the RS3 April Newsletter:

https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1327x54/end_of_april_newsletter_necromancy_teaser_new/

They showed a portion of something like a new rune with this comment:

"Do you have an idea of what this is and what it could be for? Or perhaps you are a time traveler and already know? If so, prove it by telling us what you think on Twitter using the hashtag #NecromancyPreview"

Maybe Necromancy is related to something we have seen from the past, and/or it has something to do with time travelling.

It rings the bell... The World Guardian was the time traveler who witnessed the resurrection of Primrose repeatedly.

"What is Time Rune?" is my answer to this riddle.

Yes, The Needle is also a mean for Necromancy. Time "magic" perhaps, which is actually science. If time travelling is involved in Necromancy, it will be far more content with Necromancy than I previously thought.

I know there will be no digsites, I was comparing the way we gathered lore in the skill and hoping that the new skill has something like that as well. As for XAU-Tak... I highly doubt we will be facing him anytime soon, though I am willing to bet that we will have Zemouregal as the main villain going forward. Dragonkin would be cool.

We also had a brief interact with time travel ( in a very rudimentary sense) in the kerapac fight in GWD3. Being able to finally harness that power could be something in store. Necromancy could involve time as we are bringing things back to life and maybe reversing time itself.

We don't need to see Xau-Tak to engagement him actually. He can mind control other NPCs. We know it in numerous occasions over the last decade. The "Moia" we are dealing with now, perhaps "Zemouregal" too may actually be the puppets of Xau-Tak. We probably have engaged him when we fought Lucien in the Halloween Event and the Skeletal Horror in the Odd Oldman quests.

Xau-Tak will eventually return, perhaps after some ritual when he can use Amascut's body to sacrifice Scabaras to overpower Tumeken.

Remember, the current story arc will last 2 years. We aren't likely to see Xau-Tak directly now, but by the end of next year, we may have to confront him directly.

" not only will you be getting a fully fledged complete new Skill later this year, but Necromancy's launch will also begin a
whole new Season of content themed around Necromancy.
We're really excited to build on the learnings of our Content Seasons to deliver even more Necromancy goodness beyond the release of the Skill."

Unless you mean that the overall story arc is different than the seasonal content being release. It seems that two years of Fort Forinthry is not going to happen now.

Not two years of Fort Forinthry. Not two years of Necromancy. But two years of the story arc immediately after Daughter of Chaos and before whatever the next story arc is.

Necromancy is a skill. I highly doubt we will have to fight any boss. There will be combat content. There may be bosses like Moia and Zemouregal or Kal'ger we can fight after some quests, but we don't need to fight them to train Necromancy at all.

Note that Necromancy is not themed around Fort Forinthry:

"While the
Fort Forinthry Content Season will be coming to a close after these two Content Updates,
Fort Forinthry still has stories yet untold. You won't need to have completed the Fort Forinthry Season to play Necromancy,"

There will only be 2 stories updates regarding Fort Forinthry left, and then Necromancy comes
AFTER
the conclusion of the Fort Forinthry Season. There will be more future updates regarding Fort Forinthry (maybe the Lumford and Edgeville politics) but they won't be related to Necromancy.

There will only be 2 Fort Forinthry updates that are related to the release of the new Necromancy skill.

The first one is a quest called Dead and Buried, and I am pretty sure the second one is just a miniquest or minor lore based content which serves as an introduction to the Necromancy skill at the time of its release.

Dead and Buried can be very interesting. Who is dead and buried? An uncanny thought.... what if the World Guardian is dead and buried? Is the World Guaridan going to be the Underworld Guardian? :D

I believe Dead and buried will be the Lore reasons for necromancy. Since they are not going to lock the new skill behind the quest line of Fort Forinthry, its safe to assume that this quest will only serve as a lore means for the new skill.

It might also be the launching pad for the Necromancy season content too.
