Bump.
I would seriously spend $20- $35 USD on AoG base game + $10 - $15 USD for Expansion packs.
Base Game = 3 Base armies Guthix, Zamorak, Saradomin and the 3 Base army campains.
Expansions:
1) Seren army + campaign + 1-2 Multiplayer Map
2) Bandos army + campaign + 1-2 Multiplayer Map
3) Menaphite army + campaign + 1-2 Multiplayer Map
4) Zaros army + campaign + 1-2 Multiplayer Map
5) Etcetera....
Monetizing + Rewards:
DISCLAIMER
I know, people don't really want things monetized but maintenance and development cost money so here it is...
1) After every match, players get some kind of in game currency (Gold, Runes, Essence, Etc...)
2) Using that in game currency you can buy...
(Gold = Unit packs) - similar to hearthstone
(Essence = Rare / Alt Art RESKIN of unit) - similar to gwent
(Runes = emotes packs + taught packs + in map cosmetics packs + Banner Packs) - similar to idk... league xD
3) A person can spend real world money if they so desire to purchase everything listed in #2.
With the effect on game play similar to Hearthstone and not the Current Starwars Battlefront 2.
4) Have an event like Dota 2 compendium, League compendium, Smite odessey. Where you can pay X amount of $ for a challenge list that rewards exclusive cosmetics. NOT UNITS.
5) This would kill on a tablet.
6) Price accordingly.
for example ( $20 base game + $10 expansion + 10 Unit packs are $2 USD each is already $50 USD). Whatever the pricing, players have to feel that it is a good value but not pay to win.
7) Out of monetization ideas...
In Game Rewards + Mechanics:
1) Ranked Ladder (As long as there is a goal, there is player retention, progression and rewards)
2) Unit packs would consist of 5 random units + unit variations with 1 guaranteed rare. (Pay very close attention of HearthStone and their level of power assigned to cards)
3) Game Modes (Ranked, UnRanked, Event, 1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4 respectively)
personally way more interesting than Chronicle: Runescape legends
