Are we finally going to figure out where the rest of the treasure is? At the end of the quest we get a treasure map that mentions more treasure these scallywags plundered, but no specific location to get it. Ulfric was an odious brine rat giving us an IOU for a reward. We all know it's going to be the fabled golden yak! YAAAAAARG!

Parrot: Incomplete quest! incomplete quest!

I don't think so. Nobody seems to like this old 2007 broken quest with failed and keep failing Agility skill requirements. At least this was shown in a Runefest annual survey regarding quests.

Since then, they have moved all kinds of pirate, treasure hunting quests over to the Cursed Archipelago, or Shadow Reef. That's probably the "cursed" treasure silly Olaf talked about in 2007. It was just being remastered into better RS3 content in recent years. Subsequently, Fremmenik also moved their interests to the new LOOT (Land Out Of Time)... or Anachronia. :)

They aren't nerfing anything, especially it is much easier to do that quest because of the much improved content for Agility.

The point is RS3 has remastered the antiquated 2007 idea of Fremmenik Treasure Hunting with The Arc, Shadow Reef and Anachronia. Now that part of the Fremmenik treasure hunting saga with the cursed treasure is being seen outside the tiny Fremmenik domain, but in the much bigger part of the Eastern Sea and the ice frozen Daemonheim, as well as Anachronia.

Note that Olaf is illiterate, some illiterate folk in 2007 logically couldn't envision the huge RS3 world outside the tiny Fremmenk like the illiterate frog under his well can't comprehend the real oceans in 2023 in the Remastered RS3 universe.

To be fair - as crappy as the quest was even back in the day - I wanted to discover the remainder of the treasure. It obviously won't happen, but it's nice to see, that this quest was upgraded to something, that can at least be considered decent.

Congratulations for being one lucky guy.

If you had failed this thing ten times in a row or so (graciously enough you eventually wouldn't fail at all, but it was soooooooooo much fun running through the whole cave. Every. Single. Time.) you wouldn't even closely see it like that - failing about things you can't influence isn't fun. There is a reason why so many players complained over this steaming pile over the years. And other quests with likewise ludicrous RNG components.

The bridge was one of worst pieces of design any quest in either game has ever brought up. That it was changed was a bug fix, that stu made it into some kind of mini puzzle made it even into something with purpose - actually cool, he just could have changed the failure rate to something you could disable with some lower medium agility level (akin to the actual requirements) alone.

I mean of course, if you think that failing things you can't influence is fun, that's probably some kind of point. But considering you just were lucky, you're just an hypocrite.

But hey - at least the quest still exists in OS in all its former glory, I guess. And since this game doesn't fix stuff like that, it always will.

RS3 has Jmod sequences kind of unofficial miniquest kind of content that typically get us to search for meaningless or useless "treasure". This can be one of the garbage rewards in a future Jmod Seqeuence.

However, the more likely scenario is the Fremmenik treasure has been found elsewhere in Anachronia. The adventures of Irwinson, the Anachronia Hunter Master and his father Sigli the Fremmenik Huntsman actually resemble what Olaf the old fool was trying to do in 2007 to make his father happy, but was soon forgotten by the players. Irwinson, on the other hand has found fame and glory in modern Anachronia for his Fremmenik heritage.

sounds like you fell on the bridge a bunch, sorry to hear

Everybody fell in 2007. It is hardly a thing in 2023 as Agilty is great and easy in RS3 in 2023.

Too bad Olaf was in the 2007 lost era. If he wasn't illiterate and could read some RS3 guides from the helpful RS3 community now, he would probably kick and ask himself why was he such a fool in 2007???
