It becomes worse the higher your levels, and it doesn't account for many training methods.
It is lazy and much like when they added squeal of fortune, now treasure hunter, so on and so forth, its not a win, it is a loss. Doing pseudo addictive things to try and suck more money out of people is a complete goddamned loss.
You can just use gp you earned from any in game activity to buy skips. Essentially you don't need to chop one yew to get all the rewards. As a player maxed long ago, Yak Tracks gives me more usage of the gp I earned in game all these years. Why not?
