You can disassemble them for historic and classic components, or use them to restore artifacts and disassemble those for vintage or timeworn components (all of which are useful for invention).
Edit: Also worth noting that binding contracts use blood of orcus and hellfire metal.

Some of the materials are needed to also restore:
- marble for a few statues around everlight
... I'm sure there's something else ...
There is the potential for more ... later ...
Unless you're wanting to use divine energy to make certain things be "combined" to make normal materials.
For example:
- leather scraps + energy = regular
- leather scraps + higher tier energy = hard leather
- third age iron + energy = iron bars
- warforged bronze + energy = bronze bar
- LOTS of Marble + Lots of higher tier energy = marble block
- Fossilized Bone + various energy = various animal bones
- Animals furs + various energy = various animal hides
I'd like materials to be more flexible as well.
The cooking skill does a good job of taking fish and produce that can be gathered at low fishing and farming levels, and applying them to mid-high level cooking.
That's definitely something we could see more of in general.

Can also:
- feed the fish and produce to your PoF animals
- put them in your Auto Disassembler Invention Machine and get back the appropriate components (to be fair, a good percentage of the lower level fish and farming produce would give junk)
