Nice working prototype in putting full blown explosive modern day VFX on every Ability in RS3 eventually. We, every RS3 player, will be getting it FREE soon. :)

I did not like it at all, I understand they wanted to make something better but this was not it.

I myself previously enjoyed how they didn't *overdo* the animation as the melee class brought that raw feeling, now it just feels over done and very fake.

They are trying way to hard to bring hype to this game from easy adjustments, it's hurting them big time. Very unnecessary

Worst part is melee was my favorite class, there's no escaping this MTX company.

They are doing it for the general public, and perhaps more importantly the general customer sector. Hardly anybody in this competitive marketplace still play legacy games with yawning graphics and no visual effects.

RS3 is no exception. They are moving forward for the modern and future consumers in the next 22 years. We are going to have such explosive animations and effects for every ability.

Don't forget RS3 has high degree of customization on their graphics. If you don't like the modern and futuristic animations, you can always select min graphics and you won't notice most of the goodies the majority of modern players like.

That's a really harsh take for somebody who may be one of the #1 RS3 fans out there, I don't get how we had yawning graphics and yet somehow managed to be one of the best games out there with zero problems. *Apparently*

Seems like a hype situation to endorse the new ability, and the new MTX ability's.

Don't worry I don't think I could ever forget their high degree of graphical customizations......

Who said "we" managed to be one of the best games out there with zero problems? I don't see any real world financial news or acclaimed awards even nominated Runescape for a single award, let alone winning one.

Are you really not getting it? We are beginning to have FREE new ability overrides with explosive effects that the financiially successful and publicly acclaimed award winning games have.

I don't think many play this game for the graphics, todays graphics you can see 'dust' in the air around you.

Your not wrong, Jagex is clearly full throttle MTX and heading down P2W pathway as we speak lol.

Jagex is 'undermining and devaluing runescape' by going this route. I see no need to warn them. "failure to see the aftermath of a choice is their own issue, not mine, i stand back and watch it happen."

Jagex has been pay to win since 2012 when they added Bond MTX to RS3 and OSRS. So what?

The aftermath? Record revenues the last few years with RS3 spearheading the gain with 18% and then 20% growth the last 2 years. As for the company as a whole, their market valuation quadrupled from a little over $100 mil to over $530 mil.

You don't need to pay to win. You just stand back and watch the others who like to pay to win. Nobody forced you to pay extra money for in game purchase or membership for new account anyway.
