Necromancy armor question

I seriously need an answer to this to straighten something out, when buying pieces of the necromancy armor I can't craft, I go to equip it and it says I need to have crafted it at least once first. I get that part, but what needs straightened out is, I personally have t70 power necro armor, say I want to skip t80 power and get t90 power. I have the choice to do Kili's task for both t80 and t90 power armor as separate choices. If I choose the t90 power task, and complete it, can I buy a set of t80 power and upgrade it to t90 power, or do I need to do the t80 power one to even upgrade from t80 power to t90 power?

Didn't even know this was a thing, why even make the gear tradable at that point?

Didn't even know this was a thing, why even make the gear tradable at that point? because despite death costs basically being pocket change now there will be someone who loses it somehow and will rather buy a new set from someone who went through the trouble of making spares to sell.

You need to complete all steps of each of the robes to go to next tier. So you need to make the T80 complete set to be able to start T90 step.
