I did a few elites recently and I thought the sound was a bit confusing myself, but I feel like I was starting to pick up on the different sounds that it made and when it was making them.

I'll have to do a few more elites some time and really listen to the sounds to see how confusing they are.

I would think the sound would pulse more quickly as our character moved closer to the X.
