the new quest lets you build the guardhouse before you build the guard walls on the outside of the fort but will never recognize that you actually build the guardhouse. I've built the guardhouse t1-t3 and even tried again but it doesn't work.

Or did I build the Level-1 guardhouse twice. I ended with 6 teak frames left over, when I thought I'd made the exact amount for the two structures? I didn't think it would allow you to build the same level twice.

That's intended, since you otherwise could permanentely mess up the perfect build achievement (their official take is that fort building would be a training method, but there is not a single aspect in which it could be considered good compared to contracts, flatpack making or just regular POH construction). Albeit that thing never should default to something you've already built - as long as you got the correct amount of materials with you for the upgrade. Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2
