This week has given us the best update to RuneScape so far, and Mod Stu deserves his props (I know people are out there complaining about Croesus or yet -another- Yak Track, so it felt right to highlight something that I think is truly a great update.)
1. It's very nice to be able to filter quests from the list directly instead of having to open the larger interface menu to be able to do so.
2. Look at all the cool ways you can sort the list now!
> 'Release Date'
The OSRS YouTuber J1mmy has a series called 'By Release' in which he completes Old School's quests in the chronological order in which the quests were introduced to the game. He also occasionally makes video essays about RuneScape 3 and has said that while he won't be doing 'By Release' in our game, that he is very interested in the lore, and he did challenge others to do it on RS3 in his stead. This option allows the player to cleanly see by year when the quests came out in order to do something similar without opening up other menus or web browsers.
> 'Area'
I don't know how viable doing something akin to Settled's (another OSRS Youtuber) 'Swampletics' series (an area-restricted Ultimate Ironman - who can't bank on top of trade - and is also stuck in Morytania) is to do in RuneScape 3 due to the removal of equippable gear from monster drop tables in favor of salvage - but the quest list at least makes seeing which quests are available in a certain region a breeze now, which may lead to satisfying lore experiences in shorter play sessions regardless of having area restrictions or not. This is good for players who may not want to explore and just complete the area they are in.
> 'Fifth/Sixth Age'
A strictly chronological progression of in-game lore. Start with Cook's Assistant, end up at New Foundations. In this route, assuming you are paying attention and not spacebarring, all the lore should make sense!
