Not sure what's going on, but there was an update countdown in the lobby but not in the game itself. When the countdown reached zero nothing happened in the game, but if you aren't already in the game you can't log in.

A number of worlds were taken offline for maintenance, I think the timer only appeared in game if you were in one of those worlds. Players in the other worlds are still in the game playing, but if they log out they can't log back in.

UK worlds are down for maintenance, as per this week's news post. However, it looks like there has been another unintended blip. According to Discord and Reddit, they're aware of the issue.
