I am wondering if killing Jad with a death touched dart will charge the crystal, or if we have to kill jad "the old fashioned way"/with necromancy. I'm not much of a bosser, and just want this task done with to prep for Alpha and Omega.
Sadly, Deathtouched darts count as a Ranged weapon and thus, killing any task bosses with it will cause the game to think you killed them as such, preventing you from getting the items you need.
The only tasks where they can be used are for group bosses that can be DTD'ed, where you will attack the boss as normal with Necromancy and then have another player throw the dart to finish them.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I'm not a bosser and I was dreading doing Jad. The fight cave was easy up until Jad. I didn't use any prayer and only one or two food for all 62 waves. My first attempt I died soon after Jad spawned. Pro tip....make sure you've got the necromatic crystal with you
On my second run I realised I'd forgotten it at wave 12 so left before I'd wasted more time. Third attempt I put the deflect range and mage curses on my ability bar ( the - and = slots ) and used those. This time I'd also unlocked the ability 'invoke death'. I struggled to stay alive and to keep the healers away from Jad but somehow I did it. I'm pretty sure invoke death is how I killed Jad. I'm not going back any time soon.
edit to add: I hadn't killed Jad since eoc came out. I'd gone in once to try it out and died long before Jad spawned. I hadn't been in there again since then until the Kili task.

I decided to risk it because someone on the RS Reddit said it worked for them, and it worked for me!
I can confirm that killing Jad with a dtd WILL charge the crystal!
I didn't know that (and TBH never needed or wanted to waste a DTD on a single Jad).
Good for those who have a problem with killing Jad for Kili's requirements then. Even players who have low combat capability can progress into much higher tiers of Necromancy gear than they thought.
perhaps the person struck Jad with necro, then DTD?
(and no Dilbert, after getting through all the waves TO Jad, this is not a huge ray of sunshine for those some deem of "low" "capability", many of whom may have 99 or better in all previously existing combat related skills. It still blows chunks to gatekeep upgrades past 60 via bossing)

That's not some of RSOF users posted. There are always players complaining about bosses being "hard", even Jad, and fortunately in RS3, even many bosses die to DTD.
