Does anyone know why Jagex have made the new Desperate Creatures quest part of the Adventurer quest section? It makes a lot more sense for it to be in a later one as it is a Sixth Age quest and those don't start until World Guardian, as well as the other Elder God Wars quests are also in that section. This means that it is not possible to do a true timeline run of all the quests.

I understand that it is a relatively short quest, but the prerequisites alone mean that quests have to be done out of timeline order in order to complete it, which defeats the purpose of it being in the Adventurer series. If a player wanted to get the full experience of the quest and questline they would need to complete not only the prerequisite quests but also the quests that provide context for the events in the quests, meaning doing 10+ quests out of order and not allowing them to have the full timeline experience.

As a newer player I just don't understand their reasoning for this decision as it defeats the whole purpose of the timeline option for quests. Personally, I am wanting to do as many quests in order as possible and the fact I can't do an Adventurer quest without doing a bunch of other things that are much further down the timeline just doesn't make sense.

Thanks :)

Live events don't have to follow any timeline.

Desperate Creatures is a quest made up from a Yak Track which nobody has to do any quest to participate. Logically, Desperate Creatures don't have to follow any timeline.

Original message details are unavailable.
Yea but they made Desperate Measures a prerequisite so you can't access it until after you start elder god wars quests which are in a much later section of the timeline

Timeline outside the story mode doesn't matter at all.

Events like Yak Tracks and minigames like Dominion Tower aren't restricted by story mode timeline. We know that long ago. For instance, in whatever minigame everybody can start with all maxed combat skill. Obviously if you talk about "timeline" it won't make sense somebody fresh out of Tutorial Island without gaining 1xp can play those minigamaes at maxed combat but they don't have to make sense because story modes and live game modes are totally separate.

Thank you for your thoughts on this!

That does make sense, I did look into the origins of Desperate Creatures before making my original post - are the quests that are prerequisites for it involved in the timeline? It may be a standalone quest in theory but it does require all of the Elder Gods War quests to be complete before it can be accessed, which all have quests that are also recommended before they are completed.

If yes, then it should be a later quest regardless if it itself is not bound by the timeline, as it is making players do later quests out of chronological order to complete it and the Adventurer quest section. I know that in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter, I just think it was an odd choice and makes playing the game chronologically more difficult since all the Adventurer quests up until now were either Fifth Age or Ambiguous. Then after Desperate Creatures (which is listed as Sixth Age) jumps back to Fifth Age quests in the Champion section.
