We are aware of Login issues impacting RuneScape as of 12:10 Game Time. The team are on it and working to resolve this as quickly as possible.

Please avoid dangerous activities at this time.

It looks like the whole system went down shortly after the initial login failure.

From Reddit:

UPDATE - 12:33 Game Time, Issue is tentatively resolved and the servers are coming back online, Rollbacks of the last 15 minutes will have occurred.

The login server is actually DOWN again.

Probably best to give them some time before getting involved in anything dangerous.

well yes, its hardly unexpected is it?
Its very common that the login servers "go down" when jagex completely screws over the player base by making knee jerk overreaction nerfs to core game mechanics
