So Jagex have put out some bond-only bundles for Black Friday.

It annoys me, as a gold premier member, that they don't allow these bundles to be bought with premier tokens or runecoins.

I have 8 premier tokens that I can't use as nothing new has come on the list of items I can get with them and over 2k of runecoins that I only really spend when there is a charity event on.

I appreciate, before anyone tells me again, that Jagex is a business and needs to generate income but they get more money from me than they would if I reverted to paying monthly as I have grandfathered rates that are less than the gold membership price. So why not allow the use of premier tokens or runecoins as well as bonds?

Premier tokens are meant for cosmetics only.

If you can get runecoins either with real money or gp, you can also get Bonds with real money or gp. It is basically the same thing

No, it's not. I only get runecoins from gold membership, I've never bought keys, runecoins, or bonds - the only thing I do is buy gold membership because it's more convenient for me and I don't mind paying the little bit extra it costs me per year.

Jagex also change their minds all the time about what can and cannot be bought with what so there's nothing to say that they can't change what tokens can buy. Also, runecoins were used for buying bank space previously and auras have been bought with both coins and loyalty points.

So, no, not the same thing and this is just another money grab by Jagex. Typical of their current attitude to players.

What "runecoins from gold membership"? I got Gold Premier Club every year since it came out but never runecoins. I don't see any runecoins included in this year's Premier Club either.

While I agree, gold premier hasn't given RC's since 2k13. If you have more than 2k, if you have prime too, it probably came from that. Or another promotion, IDK what all they've given them from.

Yes, sorry, you and Dilbert are correct, I have had runecoins from gold membership but not recently. The ones I have are because I have Amazon prime - that was one good thing that they did, I had prime before it got linked to RS and so it was an extra that I got more or less for free. Points to Jagex for that!

Seems intentional in the newspost that they said its only for bonds. They make less with runecoins and premier tokens if those were able to be used for bond bundles. I'd say 5 premier tokens to buy the 250+ bank spaces is fair for us but not for jagex.

The premier tokens explicitely are for buying old membership rewards (gift cards, old premier clubs and the 2021 steam package (but for reasons not the 2022 one and 2023 should not be up to debate yet)).

That they do not allow RC is probably greed all over again though - every bond eventually was paid for with real cash, RC not necessarily.

I'm not following this. You're grandfathered in at the $5/month rate, just as I am, but prefer Premier because it's more convenient? How is paying more per month more convenient? I've been paying the old rate since 2008, and it's been as a recurring payment each and every month. What's more convenient than that? If you meant you like the bonus items that Premier provides as opposed to just the regular membership, that I could understand. But how is paying more somehow more convenient?

And you are deluding yourself by saying you don't buy coins or keys or bonds because you are in fact paying more for those very same items with Premier membership, so you are in fact buying those very things, just not specifically or separately, but are rewarded them in your bundle each time.
