I never compared scroll of life to the relic. I just corrected you, who brought up the relic on Page 2, Post 6:

"My herbs never died before anyways with
the relic
in use so idc about herbs dying"

Whatever "relic" you mentioned doesn't change anything with Scroll of Life.

Scroll of life still works exactly the way it was before the update. We have a 10% chance to get back a seed when harvesting a herb patch. No difference then and now. Many players and me have confirmed it. We answered OP's question already.

I love when posters speak authoritatively in the collective voice.
Well, I "we" tested it too and it definitely seems to proc less than before but I "we" never kept a detailed log of it in the past either. My "our" gut says it was probably untouched and it just seems to be less effective post-update. Although it wouldn't surprise me "us" if Jagex temporarily de-tuned it for this update since the purpose is to get rid of seeds from the game.

It seems there are two factors at play here and people seem a little confused.

Firstly, scroll of life is performing exactly as it was intended. You have an 11% chance of it returning a seed to you when 'harvesting' a patch. Which is what it is doing.

What it is not doing is reflecting how many seeds you have planted in that patch. So if you do 10seeds at a time you only earn 1 back. Now this probably does need looking at, either get 10chances on 10seeds (ie you should get at least 1 seed back per patch) or the 11% chance of getting all 10 back.

Considering how crops work, when you plant 3seeds you get 3back, I'd presume the 2nd method would be easier to implement.

On the flip side of this, is the herbs harvested themselves. Now the ratios decrease with additional seeds, such that 10seeds gives min 15herbs, which is half of the produce of 1seed which gives min 3herbs. So people saying you get more produce are totally wrong.

In fact as far as I can see the only real benefit of multiple seeds is to maximise the speed at which you earn Crux Points. Once you reach cap on crux points, it would actually make far more sense to do single seed runs for gp. I accept you will earn xp a bit faster with multiple patches, but who does herb runs for xp anyway?????

And.... ironically if you revert back to single seed runs, then the problem with the scroll of life goes away at the same time too. :)

Yes, Scroll of Life is doing exactly like it was before the update. That should answer OP's question already.

The other factor is just whether we think Scroll of Life now should be exactly like it was, or we want to have a chance to get more than 1 seed back.
