I was under the impression that you would only earn double xp tokens while the event timer is ticking?

In other words, I paused the timer, and I noticed that I still earn 4 dxp tokens while skilling with protean items.

I was under the impression the event timer was linked to the event itself meaning you only earn while the timer is active

"With this DXP we are introducing an additional element - DXP Tokens. These tokens are earned by earning DXP Spirits intermittently while skilling* or by using Proteans and Dummies. Alternatively, if you have any unwanted Proteans, you can convert up to 10000 of them daily to use them on something more valuable to you!"


Nothing regarding the DXP timer is mentioned, so we get DXP tokens while skilling as described, regardless of your DXP timer status.

Color me surprised. I just figured it was part of the timer. I sure wish we could convert more than 10k a day. I have around 80k protean items so it would take me more than a week just to convert them all

We have 10 days for this DXP Live period, so if you have started on converting on day 1 it would be more than enough time to convert all your 80k protean items. There are still 5 days left on the current DXP Live, so you can still convert 50k of your proteans, and I think you can convert the remaining 30k, plus whatever you earn in the following 3 months, in the next DXP Live. Essentially, vast majority of us players will never have enough protean items to convert if we do choose to.
