Probably the most and least random question(s) you might get ..............................

Let's pretend for a sec that you run into the standard anime trope of getting isekia'd. Maybe you died. Maybe you got teleported to another world.
Whichever story variant ... congrats! You've been dragged into a world quite similar (or exactly) like Runescape.

But as we have RS3 and OSRS ... you're given a choice ... which one do you go to?

This makes for a rather interesting debate ... and some interesting questions ...

1) If you were Isekai'd into a Runescape World, which would you prefer to get sent to?

2) which do you think you would be more powerful in if you were a standard maxed/completionist player?

3) Which do you think you would actually fare better in as a maxed/comp'd player?

4) Which do you think you would fare better in as a starting Level 1 adventurer but NOT the player character? (you get dropped in, your player avatar is the big hero of the world, and YOU are just another rookie adventurer having to make their way)

5) regardless of scenario, how long do you think you'd last?

6) If you were dropped into ANOTHER video game/RPG/fantasy-esque world, but as your RS3 or OSRS character, how do you think you would fare?

Quick note: for scenarios in which you go in as the max/comp player ... just assume that
- everything currently in bank, POH, and all other available storage is available to you in the new world (somehow)
- if in another world besides RS, the skill might have an analog, but you have to find it for yourself
- If completionist, then assume the player char at the time of completing ALL quests in the corresponding game

This is an extremely easy question to answer: we play RS3 of course, because the game has all kinds of stories and content built for the past, the present and the future. RS3 is the game of the past, present and the future but OSRS is just the game of a snapshoot of the past before 2008.

We can add more 5th Age content even from just OSRS to RS3. For instance, we already have created the far more story worthy Zuk with his legs and signature big sword Ek-ZekKil, out from the featureless and storyless OSRS Zuk.

Unfortunately, when it comes to adding post-2007 RS2 stories and other content to OSRS, let alone RS3 and futuristic Time Guardian content, it is exceedingly hard to make things work on OSRS because the game is so lacking in stories and content. OSRS doesn't even have materialistic gods, let alone Elder Gods, Xau-Tak and even more advanced and powerful civilization of the future Gielinor. We simply can't see much future from OSRS.

Dilbert, this isn't a discussion on RS3 vs OSRS ...

This is intended to be a fun question on which runescape world you would go into if the Isekai/anime/whatever happened to you and how well YOU would do in that world.

You read my comments totally wrong. I am not discussing RS3 vs OSRS but the world of RS3 compared to OSRS as your OP seemingly invited us to:

"But as we have RS3 and OSRS ... you're given a choice ... which one do you go to?"
- OP

Of course I will go to the RS3 world because we have the past, the present and the future. We have the Needle in RS3 but not in OSRS. We have alternate reality in RS3 already, see Dimension of Disaster for the New Varrock.

"2) which do you think you would be more powerful in if you were a standard maxed/completionist player?"

Of course, the World Guardian will be more powerful, as we have beaten gods and the First Necromancer. Even without fighting, skillers can make all kinds of high level endgame gear in the RS3 world.

"5) regardless of scenario, how long do you think you'd last?"

Forever in RS3 theoretically, because we can manipulate time and dimensions in RS3.

"6) If you were dropped into ANOTHER video game/RPG/fantasy-esque world, but as your RS3 or OSRS character, how do you think you would fare?"

I will definitely fare very well in other games with classes and the concept of abilities and skill trees like WoW and FF as the RS3 World Guardian and Necromancer. Pretty much abilities are in every successful MMO. RS3 game world will be not much different from other games except, of course, the stories. Time Travel ala The Needle style is also the mainstay concept of MMORPGs like the Final Fantasy series. The Needle in RS3 and Historia Crux in Final Fantasy are fittingly cornerstone for the Promise of Tomorrow.

More on this discussion:

"5) regardless of scenario, how long do you think you'd last?"

We have already learned Primrose/Gail has gone through many Needle iterations to prolong her life in RS3. We have also seen very similar scenarios in a lot of popular fictions. For instance, Apocalypse of the Marvel Universe had been known as immortal, only later revealed he used Marvel's version of The Needle, known as the Lazarus Chamber, to keep going back in time every time when he was about to die.

RS3 should be very easy to pick up from consumers of the Marvel Universe and such too, and we can live as long as Apolcalyse to the Marvel Universe readers, which is almost half a century and counting... :)

Oh BTW, we have our Four Horsemen in RS3 like in the Marvel Universe. I don't know if we will have Apolcalyse soon in a RS3 Isekai too,

Literally, in RS3 we can play as other NPCs for well over a decade already. For instance, for those who are new to RS3, they should have the opportunity to play as Thok in the Fremmenik Sagas when they play through Necromancy. They can also control our signature hero, The Raptor, in Dead and Buried.

We can also play as gods too, like Itchlarin, or Mahjarrat like Moia.

Our Avatar is not just the only hero in RS3. Let's don't forget we have a team of Signature Heroes who have been involved in many key adventures. The likes of Ariana are actually gaining more significance with major, major game changing content like the Elder Godwars.

Another no brainer, RS3 worlds of course. We also have MQC and Trimmed Comp for players in RS3 worlds to go after, we fare better than just getting bored and quit the worlds after maxing/comping.

If someday we have RS3 characters crossing into the Marvel Universe, I can see perhaps Xau-Tak will turn War into The Incredible Hulk and Death into Wolverine like Apocalypse did to the X-men? And the dark side of Ariana overpowering her to become the Dark Phoenix?

"- if in another world besides RS, the skill might have an analog, but you have to find it for yourself"

We have plenty of analogs with RS3's abilities mapping to plenty of fictional universes already.

Let's compare it with the Marvel Universe, Ariana the Seer, who demonstrated various superhuman telepathic ablilities in Azzanadra's Quest, EGW etc resembles similar abilities as the young pre-Phoenix Jean Grey. Perhaps Ariana can find her pyromancy powers later since she has absorbed unknown ancient energies during the Azzanadra Quest. I am sure plenty of us can envision Ariana with Combust, Dragon Breath and Metamorphosis in RS3. Not that hard to see similar Phoenix abilities in the Marvel Universe.

Thok is like The Hulk, who can swing a 2H sword with one hand, eat rocks and kill dinos with one hit. We can easily equate Thok using the Berserk ability to Bruce Banner raging and turing green.

The Raptor is becoming the Colossus too. She will need to discover more of her hidden inner powers first perhaps, as her character is drawing powers from the gear created by the others at this point. Or maybe she can be like the Iron Man who has his powers solely from what he wears too. Maybe Oldak and other master inventors can help. Anybody want to see The Raptor fly like Iron Man? :)

The new Runescape novels may bring us to pretty cool Isekei.

We know the stories are inquired with the King Raddallin, Invasion of Falador, Lost sword of King Raddallin, Sir Owen/Temple Knight storylines we have been enjoying over the past 10 years.

However, we have never heard of Gift of Guthix, Llme and other strange NPCs. I don't know these new Runescape novels are inspired by the RS3 stories but are speculation fictions and not exactly what happened in RS3.

Look at the cover of the new book:

https://img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/AA1in5Cp.img?w=600&h=338&m=6

What the hell is that giant frog? It doesn't look like anything we have seen, right? But... this is exactly something I want to read because they are different adventures inspired by the storylines I am familiar with.

Hey, we know we have Varrock and New Varrock in RS3, right? What if these new Runescape novels give us New Fallador? It will be fun. :)
