i see OSRS go on about having 5x the active players. i counter that 20% of their actives are bots and 50% are pvp junkies. their actual players are roughly the same.

What % of rs3 actives are bots?
a lot less than osrs
osrs has a severe botting problem. not saying rs3 has no bots. its just a lot less!
you can tell when updates happen. (monday for rs3, wednesday for osrs)
i cant give an actual number as thats not really known, but its clear if you were to play both (which i do) osrs botting issue is far worse than rs3. and that is a huge portion of the population on the site.
to compare them so black and white is just well silly.
both player bases play completely differently. because they are 2 very different games.
rs3 the player base spend far less per day then ones on osrs. because of that you cant go by "players online at this precise time"
to give an extreme example;
if a game has 1m players but each player on plays 10 mins per day. the player count at a precise time will be fairly low
but if a game has 100k player but the average time the player spends per day is 20 hours. the one with 20 hours average player time per day is going to look more popular. even though its entire population is lower.
and in a way this is what happens with osrs and rs3. the average time an rs3 player plays is less per day than osrs. on top with osrs having a bigger botting issue. this can give the impression that osrs is far more popular than osrs.
hopefully this gives you a better understanding on statistics and how its not as black and white as you think
Obviously I only played rs3 and was regularly online 20 hours a day. So that's definitely not an osrs thing.
Hopefully that gives you an idea of who you're trying to kid gingerbread cookie.

.
what example was for the average player. not individuals. yes some people in rs3 spend 20hrs a day. but on average the player base spends less time per day than osrs.
you alone arent going to stop that
if you are just here trying to argue that rs3 is less popular. instead of what your title suggests about having an actual discussion. then there is no point in carrying on with it. as its clearly a troll thread

The average playerbase is 5x smaller? So obviously there's less.of everything. That's maths.
Having players more is an obvious sign they like and enjoy the game more .
