Forums truly are a slower channel of information now a days...
Back on topic: yes nerf has been confirmed to be in coming by Mod Luma.
Source is the Twitch stream just done a couple days ago.
Most updated information on it can be found here:

More precisely, ritual disturbance xp is going to be reduced by 20-25%, not 50% as I reported from what the livestream suggested. However, as part of this adjustment, they are also considering small tweaks in regards to the balance of XP gained from ritual completion. So they are buffing the xp from completing the rituals.
Furthermore, they are buffing combat xp in many ways:
"We're investigating changes to Invention XP - Eureka!
Overall rate at which Combat items gain XP
Matching Off-hand XP rates to match mainhand rates.
Edge cases where players would gain lower rates at bosses and high XP monsters
We're looking into Combat Buffs including:
Some buffs (e.g., Slayer Helm, Genocidal and Revenge) apply disproportionately to fixed & random damage, meaning they are more effective on abilities like Quake than an ability Hurricane. We're looking to even this out so damage buffs apply in a consistent manner regardless of which ability is used."
So overall, this is a rebalance instead of a nerf. They are rebalancing xp gaining from random events and completion of the rituals, as well as a comprehensive combat buffs through invention, slayer, abilities, etc.

They've now mentioned the nerf on the homepage: https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/c=SJLP4Bl08iI/necromancy-community-feedback-update---3
Seems like they're looking for a 20-25% nerf to XP rather than the 50% they initially wanted.
Thanks for the link, I guess 25% isn't too bad and if they're adjust the ritual completion xp that will help. Hopefully.
The news post still says "looking in to..." rather than "going to..."
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?

Get ur 99/120/200m necro xp before they nerf the skill. Its best to buy the inks now so you don't lose out on current xp rates.
Looks like I won't make it >.<
I have tried catching these events..sometimes I can..since I'm not great at that the XP nerf for these is okayISH to me.
Far more than okayISH to me actually:
"this would decrease the XP from the random events, in turn to

Make sure to have the Attraction 3 Glyphs up. These are mandatory for the high XP rates. You boost to 107 Necromancy with something like overloads to make the Glyphs and then only drink them when you need to repair the Glyphs. This is done until 107, after which no boosting is needed.
At 99, you add the Attraction 2 Glyph to the Necromancy skillcape and wear the cape. Your soul attraction will be at 650% at 99. At 107, you can switch to the Attraction 3 Glyph which will boost the attraction to 700%. Boosting doesn't work when adding the Glyph to the cape. You have to be at the level to add the Glyph to the cape.
The events come at the same time every time, so once you do them enough, you know when to expect an event.
Abilities like Surge and Bladed Dive can be very helpful for some of the events that are further away. I used Surge as I don't have Bladed Dive unlocked. Surge was helpful enough.
