Killing any of the zombies or skeletons doesn't drop my kill count, it constantly stays at 124. I've tried multiple ways, magic, melee, cannon but none will count as kills towards the challenge
Any chance you are in a "group"? Sometimes the grouping system causes non-group activities to give credit to the group and not the individual player.

Co-op slayer should work in RS3, even for Slayer Challenges, but OP and their partners have to start with no tasks assigned, so too late.
Not true - you can coop with someone you meet out while on task. Or at least, it used to be that way....
Interesting... I haven't tried co-op slaying for years. How does it work though? Say I am on a Raptor Special Challenge, and somebody joins my co-op invitation and automatically be assigned the same special challenge? Will that be too easy for everybody to get special challenges?
Going off the top of my head atm, so may not be 100% accurate but.... using the slayer gem, you can invite a player to your co-op group at any time. If you just happen to have the same task and are killing the same monster in the same world/area, you will both get credit - as you didn't start at the same time, there is a good chance that you will have differing remaining kills, and one will finish before the other, but this still allows for assistance on at least part of the assignment.
I'm not 100% certain how it would work on the Raptor special assignments, but that's how I recall it working for assignments in the past years.
Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?
As stated earlier in the thread: kill the zombies outside the crypt. Any one of them north of the fort and there will be an invisible counter that will allow you to complete the task.
I cannot remember if using the slayer ring or slayer full helmet will read the correct count, but either way once you get the assignment amount you will automatically complete the challenge.
