Hey everyone,

I've been doing giveaways on world 7 the last couple days for some Christmas spirit and fun. Instead of your standard drop party or trivia, which always suck on mobile, I wanted to make it fair and fun for everyone. So I thought of the idea of doing a lottery type winning system where the person/persons who got closest to the skill and level that was listed, gets a free gift, such as GP or a purple Santa hat etc. The winner then picks the next skill, and I use a random number generator to pick the next level, and we keep going.

I know games of chance are against the rules, but I thought that was towards the gambling games. I.e betting on flowers or games risking the player. I never asked anyone to pay anything and only ever gave out items and gp.

I recieved a 2 day mute, which when appealed did get dropped, but I'm weary of breaking the rules and don't want to receive a ban or permanent mute.

Is there a better way to go about this so I don't receive another mute or ban? I'd like to continue giving to the community but Im not a fan kf drop parties and trivia, but would rather not get my account banned.

Thanks!

My opinion on this matter, if Jagex/JMods already issued you a 2 day mute it means it is a severe warning about what you are doing/talking about in RuneScape.

Christmas Spirit & Fun can be best left done by Jagex/JMods as they already have 20+ years of Community Experience.

The problem is is when you become vocal, meaning the community has noticed you, problems may arise you aren't aware of which could make things worse for you and others.

Understandable, however when I recieved the mute there was no evidence provided, and when appealed it was dropped in about an hour, so I'm unsure if it was due to something I said, how I was doing the giveaway or if someone had just reported me falsely. I have quite a large bank have been playing over 20 years now and I enjoy giving back to the community, specially around Christmas. Hence why I'm looking for better ways to do it that won't risk my account or go against their rules.
