CB555 you do what you want with a drop. Since the rest of the items, are drops, would be consistent. Is there an issue with the Slayer Helm upgrades and modifications adding a new item? I really do not remember. Been years since messing with Slayer Helm on RS3. In OSRS there is just the original melee helm and you imbue the helm with mage and range doing that mini game. Plus there are mods with certain head drops.
There's a ton of tiers after that now.
So you have slayer helm (melee), full slayer helm (all styles but necro), several upgraded stat tiers using full helm as a base, with the corrupted helm as a final stat/effect upgrade, each version also has several variants for optional charges of slayer rings and/or fero rings and/or re-colours too.
Necro item would need to be added at or around full slayer helm level, which then means:
1) everyone needs that to re-make their higher helm tiers (& jagex refund everyone sufficient costs to do this when they downgrade the helmets - and many have 2 helms these days too due to the slayer helm stand)
OR
2) everyone gets the upgrade for free if they have x tier helm (likely kills any drop value)
OR
3) Jagex doubles the already high number of helm variants for every tier for necro/non-necro included...if just feels like it'd be super clumsy to implement compared to a binary unlock that just adds the necro bonus to all applicable items when thematically the black mask would fit without having to force it
Could still be an item too I guess but just act as one-time unlock instead of a helm material, was thinking more in terms of application to the helm rather than how it's obtained.
