Goes to 120.

T 95 gear.

META for combat now?

Im only at 60 and it seems pretty ass so far. Theres also less abilitys than other skills cause obviously it just came out, but with it going to 120 i can see it being stronger than the other CB triangle skills. I also wonder if we will actually get gear scaled to 120 considering how its been like 59873257 years and we still dont have t 99 for anything.

yes the dps you can get with necromancy, is a lot.

so yeah being lvl 60 its going to seem worse than what you can do with others at 99.

there will still be some places that the other 3 are better im sure. but necromancy does seem to be taking the spotlight. its much easier and smoother to use, mainly as no switches.

When you are at 60 Necromancy, of course, you aren't able to do much just like when you are 60 mage, ranged or melee you have not much to talk about. Remember you need at least level 70's to even talk about Barrows in the good old days?

You will need to raise your Necromancy to at least up to the Hermond levels for Necromancy combat to start to flourish, but the good news is you aren't far from that.

As for level caps of other combat styles going to 120, I think actually on the contrary they are less likely to go to that level cap any time soon because we have new ways of progression thanks to the introduction of "class style" abilities with Skill Trees. Think when we can implement Necromancer as a class instead of skill soon, if not now already, we already have the blueprints for implementing "class style" abilities with melee/ranged/magic skill trees too so we may have different classes of mages and rangers and such. When we have fresh and other even more game changing combat content, we are less reliant on raising combat level cap without adding new content.

Jagex has talked a little bit about the future development of non-Necromancy combat progression in today's livestream.

It seems like the direction they are going is pretty much what I mentioned. They said learning from the development of Necromancy, they are looking into different things like progression with hit chance in other skills. This is one example among plenty more that will expand the regular combat styles with "class style" abilities similar to Necromancy too, and without expanding their level cap to 120.

They said it is a medium term project, so not now... but a little bit down the road... :)
