But yeah its done and for the best. Activeness on the forums is very much linked to news items appearing on the RuneScape mainpage - particularly when something controversial is posted. This is basically why we're seeing an increase in traffic now, not only because the forums are closing.

I remember being really excited to create my clan's threads in 2010.

We were founded in 2009, under the name Sixth Realm. It really felt like we gained a proper sense of identity once our thread(s) were created on the RS Forums. Sixth Realm | Community Clan Founded in 2009

I have had a lot of nice memories over the course of my Runescape playing career here on the forums. Nothing specific, but I just enjoyed being part of the general forums chat lounge. I was able to have conversations with people over the course of weeks about certain topics (TV shows, movies, sports, life, etc.).

This is what I liked about the forums. We could all have different conversations that could last months. I feel like with Reddit and Discord, we would lose that ability. Those platforms are too fast paced.

It's unfortunate that we will no longer be able to communicate together as a community here.

yep thats definitely the issue. a post will go up and in 24 hours its lost all conversation.

here like this thread. its still going. the posts about forum closing on reddit are now long gone.

You had to be there when there were over 25 Jagex Moderators from Community Management. You couldn't post a thread without a response a few seconds later. We had over 1,000 active users at any given time. Yea, the RSOFs were extremely more restrictive before than they are now, but we had way more activity. You couldn't forget the Jagex Lite sub-forum.

All in all, I too would have to dig through my archives and screenshots, but it's sad to find out that the RSOFs are going away. I started in 2004 so at least I made it 20 years, lol.
